Agency continues growth strategy with acquisition
Quicklet has strengthened its foothold in Scotland's capital through the strategic acquisition of rental portfolios from LinnMac and Investment Lettings, marking another milestone in the property management firm's expansion trajectory.
The newly acquired assets will be integrated into Albany Lettings, Quicklet's Edinburgh operation, substantially enlarging the group's managed inventory while cementing its competitive positioning within the Scottish residential lettings sector.
Since its establishment by co-founders Gavin McEvoy and Dermot O'Hanlon, Quicklet has pursued a dual-track expansion model combining organic portfolio development with selective acquisitions. This transaction represents the latest execution of that strategy, designed to achieve operational scale without compromising service delivery standards.
Gavin McEvoy, co-founder of Quicklet, commented on the strategic rationale: "This acquisition represents a natural progression of the growth trajectory we've been executing over recent years.
"Our operational philosophy centers on delivering professional property management underpinned by robust processes and rigorous operational frameworks.
"Strengthening our Edinburgh presence through Albany Lettings enables us to extend that capability while ensuring service continuity for both property owners and occupiers."
Dermot O'Hanlon, co-founder of Quicklet, emphasized the company's measured approach: "Our expansion strategy prioritizes sustainable growth over volume metrics. The objective is establishing organizational infrastructure and team capacity capable of delivering quality management at scale.
"We evaluate each acquisition through the lens of operational continuity, ensuring seamless transitions that minimize disruption for landlords and tenants as portfolios transfer to our management platform."
To facilitate operational continuity, Angie McIntosh, senior property manager from LinnMac, will transition to the Albany Lettings team. Her integration preserves institutional knowledge of property specifics, landlord relationships, and tenant requirements critical to maintaining service quality during the portfolio migration.
This Edinburgh expansion follows a series of portfolio consolidations across the broader Quicklet Group, including the September 2024 acquisitions of Robert Wilson Estate Agency's 180-property Northern Ireland portfolio and Keyone Property's 86-unit Belfast operation.
